We’re delighted to announce that Richard Firth has been promoted to Associate Director — a well‑deserved achievement and an important milestone for Richard, the Infrastructure Management team, and the wider Stellar Projects group.
Richard’s appointment recognises his hard work, strong leadership, and consistently high‑quality delivery. He brings extensive industry experience and has played a key role in securing several of our recent project wins, building trusted client relationships, and leading complex projects to successful outcomes. Richard is also widely respected for his commitment to mentoring and developing junior staff, generously sharing his knowledge and experience to strengthen the team around him.
In his new role, Richard will continue to lead key projects while taking on a greater focus on client partnerships and people development, helping shape the future direction of Stellar Projects as part of our leadership group.
On a personal note — Richard is an absolute pleasure to work with: always approachable, ready to listen, and never one to turn down (or deliver) a truly terrible dad joke. A true infrastructure legend who knows how to build bridges… and crack dad jokes while doing it.

In the January 2026 event 2026 , severe weather events across the North Island placed enormous pressure on key transport links, particularly State Highway 2 (SH2) through the Waioweka Gorge and State Highway 35 (SH35) along the East Coast. With widespread slips, fragile worksites, and long-term closures impacting communities and regional connectivity, a coordinated and responsive approach was essential.
