Our Sustainability Policy is grounded in double materiality—recognising both our impact on people, communities, and the environment, and the influence these factors have on our business.
To deepen this commitment, we established a Sustainability Forum and partnered with external experts to develop a robust ESG Framework. Guided by science‑based insights and genuine engagement with our people, clients, suppliers, and partners, this framework sets clear priorities for our sustainability journey. It shapes how we monitor greenhouse gas emissions, embed environmental outcomes into projects, strengthen supply chain responsibility, and report transparently on our progress.
A clear sustainability focus with defined intent
Our sustainability approach is guided by clear focus areas with defined intent. These priorities reflect where we can make the most meaningful impact across our people, projects, communities, and operations, while supporting strong governance, value for money, and long‑term outcomes for our clients.
Employee & Workforce Wellbeing – Prioritising the health, safety, wellbeing, diversity, and development of our people to foster an engaged, resilient, and high‑performing workforce.
Community Engagement – Building strong, respectful relationships with clients, iwi and mana whenua, and communities, and delivering services that support positive social outcomes.
Supply Chain Responsibility – Working with suppliers who demonstrate ethical practices, support modern slavery eradication, and are taking steps to reduce their environmental footprint.
Decarbonisation – Measuring and reducing our greenhouse gas emissions, improving energy efficiency, minimising waste, and lowering our overall carbon footprint.
Capability & Service Opportunities – Committing to work that enhances environmental outcomes and supports more sustainable infrastructure and development.
Ethical Governance – Acting with integrity, transparency, and accountability in how we operate and make decisions.
Quality & Deliverables – Maintaining excellence in the quality of our outputs and service delivery to ensure lasting value for clients and communities.
The framework is used as a practical decision‑making tool, not a standalone policy, and underpins tender responses, internal reporting, and operational priorities.
Carbon measurement and decarbonisation at Stellar Projects are actively underway and grounded in data, transparency, and independent assurance. We have completed a baseline greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory and implemented a Carbon Management Plan to guide our decarbonisation journey. By combining staff‑wide commuter surveys with fleet and operational data, we track Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions to understand where we can make the most meaningful reductions. Our emissions inventory has been independently audited and assured, providing confidence, credibility, and transparency for our clients and partners.
