Delivering a Key Milestone
A major milestone has now been achieved with the successful installation of the Emergency Storage Vessels (ESVs) and wet well at the Longridge Wastewater Pump Station site. These critical components will help manage peak flows, improve operational resilience and support reliable wastewater services for a growing community.
This work forms part of a broader programme of upgrades designed to enhance service reliability, support future development and protect public and environmental health.

Project Overview
The Longridge Wastewater project includes the installation of a new pump station and associated infrastructure that will connect the upgraded Paeroa Wastewater Treatment Plant to the Hauraki District Council-led rising main currently under construction. Together, these works will create a stronger, more reliable link between growth areas and core treatment infrastructure.
This investment supports improved capacity, more resilient operations, and better long-term performance of the wastewater network.

In the January 2026 event 2026 , severe weather events across the North Island placed enormous pressure on key transport links, particularly State Highway 2 (SH2) through the Waioweka Gorge and State Highway 35 (SH35) along the East Coast. With widespread slips, fragile worksites, and long-term closures impacting communities and regional connectivity, a coordinated and responsive approach was essential.
